Daily Log
3/3
My first day at my internship was a lot of fun. I was surprised when I found out that I would be talking on the radio my first day here. The radio show mostly consisted of kicking it with the mentor and talking on the radio every fifteen minutes or so. After the show, we worked on tomorrow's show, which consisted of finding Entertainment News, Page 2 News, and On-This-Day News. I also found out that I would have to prepare a radio segment called "Travis' World" for Wednesday.
3/4
The second day at my internship wasn't very different from the last. We did the radio show, we prepared for tomorrow's show, and I continued to work on Travis' World.
3/5
I decided to do my first Travis' World on how E.T. was actually a Jedi Knight. I used evidence from both films to support this claim. After doing the show and preparing for the next show, I found out that I would be doing Travis' World every day.
3/6
Today was a typical day at the radio station. We did the show, did Travis' World, and prepared for the next show.
3/7
Today was another typical day. We did the show and prepared for the next, but I couldn't figure out a topic for Travis' World today, so we did not do it.
3/10
We did the show as usual, then headed up to Durango Mountain Resort to do a remote broadcast. A remote broadcast is a live radio broadcast done somewhere other than the station. There were some problems we encountered while setting up, but we were able to get everything running fine. It was a lot of fun.
3/11
Today we did the show. I then did Travis' World, and talked about recent advancements in technologies. I specifically talked about spider silk and how it has been engineered to be stronger than steel and Kevlar. We then set up a basketball hoop we somehow acquired.
3/12
Today we did the show as usual. I didn't do a Travis' World today, as I had nothing to talk about. We then prepared for the next day's show.
3/13
Today we did the show as usual. My Travis' World time was overrun by a guest on the radio. Having him on the air was still really entertaining and fun, though, so I don't mind. After the show ended, we prepared for the next day's show.
3/14
Today we did the show and I did my Travis' World. I'm noticing myself starting to talk a lot more and be more confident and funny. After the show, we prepared for the next day's show.
3/17
I missed today as I was sick.
3/18
Today we did the show as usual and I chose to talk about dumb crime in my Travis' World. After the show, we prepared for the next day's show.
3/19
Today we did the show as usual, but I didn't do Travis' World because I couldn't think of anything to talk about. We prepared for the next day's show afterward.
3/20
Today is the second to last day from the end of my internship. This makes me kind of sad. I've started to really form relationships with some of the people here. We did the show as usual and then prepared for the next day's show.
3/21
For my last day, my mentor gave me a going away gift on the radio. He hired a skinny, red-headed stripper for me, promptly nicknamed Gingersnap. It was very hilarious. The stripper was played by my mentor's son. We finished the show and I said my goodbyes to everyone there.
